Christmas day was the premiere of the movie “Marley and Me”. Billy and I read the book and fell in love with the story, plus our dog’s name is Marley so we’ve been anticipating the premiere of this movie ever since we heard about it. It really was a cute movie. I do have to say, though, that reading the book was a lot more exciting. Don’t get me wrong, I love the movie, and everyone in the theatre was in tears at the end, but it just seemed like something was missing. Maybe that’s because I already had formed a clear image in my mind of how the characters should look, act, feel, etc. I mean when we read the book Owen Wilson playing John Grogan didn’t pop into my imagination. Also it seemed like they had to pack so much into the movie that there wasn’t a lot of depth to the characters. Anyway that’s enough critiquing from me, but if you want a movie that the whole family can see, then this is your movie. It’s a comedy and romance, which are my two favorite things. Just be sure to bring some extra tissues!
Extreme Doggie Makeover December 10, 2008
It has been so cold and snowy here lately, but the temperature finally made it up to fifty yesterday. 53 degrees + 1 smelly dog. Guess what that meant! Billy came up the stairs last night carrying the hose and Marley’s shampoo and towel. I’m not just saying this because I’m his mommy, but Marley is the best behaved dog I’ve ever seen when it comes to taking a bath. He loves to catch the mist of water that Billy sprays at his mouth. After Marley’s bath Billy got out the hairdryer and gave him a new do. The both of them are so cute together. I wish I would’ve taken pictures. Billy just has a way with animals. He has that innate ability like “The Dog Whisperer”. I on the other hand am not so lucky.
