Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Billy took me to this neat little art gallery located down the street from where we live. It’s called Gary Bowling’s House of Art. I wish I would’ve taken my camera with me because it was amazing, which could be amazingly good or amazingly bad depending on your definition of art. The one word I can use to describe Gary and his gallery is quirky. Gary told us that his wife and him find things that have been discarded in places like dumpsters and transform them into masterpieces. Gary’s HOA was fascinating, and it made me look at things in a different perspective. It’s just a really neat place. The gallery not only features Gary’s works of art, but it also features other local artists’ works. The gallery is also a host for musicians, a lounge area, a bar upstairs, benefit dinners, etc. If you’re ever in the neighborhood you should stop in and see it.
